Day 01Airport / Sigiriya / Dambulla
Arrival to Colombo International Airport and meet Wonder Vacations Travel guide at the airport arrival lobby
Transfer from Airport to Sigiriya.Proceed to Sigiriya.
Climb the citadel of Sigiriya. Sigiriya have been named one of the Wonders of the World, long ago, and now there is a proposal to name it as the Eighth Wonder of the Ancient world. Sigiriya is a unique witness to the civilization of Ceylon during the years of the reign of Kassapa I. The ruins of the capital built by the parricidal King Kassapa I (477–95) lie on the steep slopes and at the summit of a granite peak standing some 370 m high (the ‘Lion’s Rock’, which dominates the jungle from all sides). A series of galleries and staircases emerging from the mouth of a gigantic lion constructed of bricks and plaster provide access to the site.
Proceed to Dambulla.
Dambulla is sited on a gigantic rock which towers more than 160m above the surrounding land. In the 1st century BC, King Walagambahu built magnificent rock temple at Dabulla. Dambulla was designated a World Heritage site in 1991. The caves has a mixture of religious and secular painting and sculpture. There are several reclining Buddha’s, including the 15m long sculpture of the dying Buddha in Cave 1. the frescoes on the walls and ceiling from the 15th-18th centuries; the ceiling frescoes show scenes from the Buddha’s life and Sinhalese history. There are a total of 153 Buddha statues 3 statues of srilankan kings and 4 statues of god and goddess

Day 02Sigiriya / Matale / Kandy / Peradeniya

Transfer to Kandy via Matale
Visit a spice garden in Matale to see different spices for which Sri Lanka is famous for. Clients will be able to see different spices and how some of these spices are grown and processed. Witness Cookery demonstrations as well.
Kandy, the last royal capital of Sri Lanka is a major tourist destination. It is situated 115kM from Colombo at 465 meters above sea level surrounded by magnificent hills . Famous for the Temple of the Tooth and many other temples the city could be called the cultural capital of the island. The city is also a good source of souvenirs or to experience many cultural performances at it’s various hotels in the city. Visit the Kandy town and bazaar, the arts and crafts centre, a gem museum and a lapidary.
Proceed to Peradeniya.
Peradeniya Royal Botanical Gardens, the finest of its kind in Asia, the largest of the botanical gardens of Sri Lanka. In the Mediterranean climate of Kandy, the gateway to the Central Highlands, the Gardens, at an elevation of 500 meters above sea-level, were tightly bounded on three sides by a loop of River Mahaweli (Great sandy river), the largest river of Sri Lanka. The total area of the gardens is about 147 acres. The variation of the clime is very less and the rain fall is about 229 cm per year. The most attractive place in the gardens is the orchid House which has more than 300 varieties of orchids

Day 03Kandy / Nuwara Eliya

Nuwara-Eliya the ‘heart’ of the tea country located at an elevation of 1980 meters in the central highlands of a Sri Lanka. The town is situated at 74 km away along Kandy-Nuwara Eliya road and this was rediscovered by British in 1827. It offers the best both worlds advantages, of tropical abundance and pleasant cool mountain climate. Haggala Botanical Garden, Queen Victoria Park, Horton Plains, The Ceylon Breweries, Gregory Lake, Galway’s Land Bird Sanctuary, Nuwara Eliya Golf Club (The finest 18 hole golf courses in South Asia), British Tombs, Oliphant Estate, Labookelle Tea Centre, The Tea Cup, The Tea Factory and St. Clair’s Tea Centre are some of the places you can visit.There are many popular waterfalls around the town (Lover’s Leep Falls, Glen Falls, Ravan Ella Falls, Laksapana Falls, Bombure Ella Falls and Devon Falls etc). Many could be visited as a part of trekking and/or hiking expeditions.

Day 04Nuwara Eliya / Kitulgala / Colombo

Proceed to Colombo Via Kitulgala.
This beautiful location was used to make the film “Bridge of the river Qwai” by David Lean. Kitulgala is an Eco Adventure with rafting in The Kaleni River including walks in the bird trails of the adjoining rain forest mountains ranging to Sri Pada range and Hortain Plains of the central hills. Visit the prehistoric cave was recently discovered containing large middens of shells from some unknown civilization on the hill above this town.

City tour of Colombo
Colombo-the capital of Sri Lanka-is the largest city and main port of Sri Lanka. It is also the commercial and financial center of Sri Lanka. Some of the finest structures built during the colonial times still preserved in one part of the City. For example, there is a 100-year-old clock tower. You can have a city tour to Fort, Pettah-Colombo’s leading bazaar, Galle Face, Slave Islands, Mount Lavinia, Kelaniya Raja Maha Vihara, Dehiwala Zoo, National Museum, The Viharamahadevi Park and Bandaranaike Memorial International Conference Hall (BMICH) which was a gift to Sri Lanka from the People’s Republic of China

Day 05Colombo /Negombo

Pettah bazaar – where one can shop for bargain.
House of fashion, Odel for clothes,Lakpahana, lakmdeura & barefoot for various souvenirs.
Transfer to Negambo.
Negombo is a beautiful beach resort on the western coast of Sri Lanka, just a short drive north of Columbo. As it is also very close to the airport, Negombo is a convenient place to either begin or end your trip to Sri Lanka. You can relax on beautiful beaches, view incredible sunsets and enjoy western and Sri Lankan food. Sea food is very popular and is caught fresh daily by Negombo fishermen, it also produces cinnamon,ceramics, and brass ware. Negombo was ruled by the Portugese, Dutch, and the British. You can see evidence of the influence of these colonial rulers in many places, such as the beautiful canals built by the Dutch and the churches built by the Portugese.
